Monogram - Finished

When I finish my monogram I think that it was fun to do despite I have to use alot paint but the outcome was awesome but a little of messy though. Well the gradient style of colour is kind of hard to do at first but the more I do the more easier it gets . So when I do my pattern poster is actually quite fast ( around 2 hrs ) but a little bit of messy though . After doing all the items I actually felt happy and satisfied about it .I did not regret of doing the gradient cause I think the outcome is pretty and when I like the monogram to have a tone to it not just a plain colour and to make it more attractive among all ages of people.

Overall , I had alot fun doing this assignment although is really tiring and all but it was okay to me.

Not to mention , the pattern poster at 1st was so hard I get annoy by it but when I redo it it seems more okay to me.

Monogram - In progress

For our 4th assignment we are going to do a Monogram of our name. Each monogram have it own theme in it and everyone have their own . As for mine is MODERN , I think that I am quite a modern person cause that I am quite a outgoing and open-minded person. For my sketch I tired MC MS CSL SL to do my monogram but at last MS was the one and it stand for MISHU , well my name is actually Shu Ling or Michelle cause that our class have the same person has the same name with me so they decide to combine both of the name together to form a new name for me. When I finalize my monogram design its time to think of the colours ! At first I though using spray but it was harder than I thought so I used acrylic to paint it on the items . Not to mention my items for the monogram are Bottles , paper bag , envelop , file , wooden box and cardboard box .
At first I though of doing a plain colour but then I tired gradient style to colour it and it turn out better then I expected so I have done a series of gradient colour for this monogram .

Batik - Finish

Out Batik is Finish ! HOORAYYY !

We are quite satisfied with our outcome but we actually planned to draw sakura but when we finished waxing that time we though that it would be quite messy to draw sakura so we decided to just draw the brunches . 

As you can see the in the batik the sky we use kind of the gradient style to bring out the feel of the nigh time . As for the lanterns we used yellow to bring out the light of the lantern and we also draw reflection on the water to make it more realistic as if it was really on the water .

We decided to draw this theme mainly we all are in to Japanese culture but also its kind of romantic for me as well when you are strolling along the sidewalk with your boyfriend or girlfriend.

We actually have a great teamwork cause we did not do the batik separately but we do it all together so we can say that which particular piece of batik is whose .

Although the batik is actually a big piece of art but when we break down into pieces it also looked amazing individual as well . Great work !

Paper cut - Finished

It was time to finish up my paper cut ! Well it was very bad during the sticking part but I was satisfied of the outcome.

As for the 1st paper cut it was symmetrical paper cut , as for this I have done a heart in the middle and there are blood vines surrounding it . It means that my heart is equal to my life because we only live once same as having one heart -- YOLO . I used different kind of material for my base the surface of the smooth making it hard to stick it with glue stick so I used UHU GLUE to stick it . I used the colour red for the base and orange for the papercut because I want it to have a contrast and something near to blood colour due to the red base colour I have decide to use .

As for the asymmetrical paper cut it a heart with a the heartbeat at both sides it means that if we still have our life we should make our life interesting like the vines in the heart so we won't have regrets life . I choose gold for my paper cut and black for my base is because I wan to have a contrasts in it and I wan it to look elegant as well . I wish everyone can cherish your life like a gold cause it the only one and its precious as well. The black base was just normal mouthing board but it came out nice as well too .

Batik - In progress

For our 3rd assignment it's going to be a GROUP assignment !! And guess what its BATIK ! For this assignment we are going to create our own batik and each group will have their own theme . Each group have 4 members in it and for my group we have Yassmin , Tia and Cherry .

We discuss alot of theme and last we choose Japanese style kind of theme but we are doing scenery as well. In our sketches we have lanterns , pagoda , mountain , tree and more . This time we are doing a nice time scenery so there is going to be a moon at sky . For our batik the main point is the colour of it cause we are planing to use different kind of colour to paint it . 

Well , our group went really well as well so stay tune for our final outcome of the batik .

Paper Cut - In Progress

For the second assignment we will be doing PAPER CUTTING but this time we have to add in a theme and attitude or something meaningful into it. Not to mention the size of the paper cut is 4.5 inch by 4.5 inch at first I though it was okay not too big or small , but in the end I WAS WRONGGGGG ! It was smaller than I think it would be . So we have to think 3 themes for our sketches .

For my 1st theme is feather means freedom , as for the 2nd theme is dandelion it also means freedom but in a way of breaking free through our comfort zone and as for the last theme it was a heartbeat it means life. At last I choose the HEARTBEAT as my theme it was my 1st time doing this kind of theme so its kinda fun .

 So after the sketches and the buying material procedures and its time to start doing it. Well , the cutting part it was OKAY but when it comes to the sticking part it was HORRIBLE because you will get all dirty and stuff .

For the 1st assignment for 2D design are our unconventional self portrait .For my portrait I have used doodling to draw my outline of my portrait and by using acrylic to paint on a canvas . Although is my 1st time trying to acrylic and it's quite hard as well but when I get the hang of it it's quite fun .

For each for portrait everyone have it own meaning in it as for mine it tells my life my story . There are the things that I liked , the things that changed my life and the things that represents the things that I cherish the most . 

Having me in the middle means that everything that is around also represent me because it made me to become the person who I am now . For example , the make-up is not just means that me as a girl love to be pretty ( I trust every girl does ) but it's say that I was been bully when I was young because of my appearance and being rejected many time as well so that I have made a choice to made myself more pretty and more confident to let the people that laughed me to be surprise . As for the music note is represent my passion for music and my love for singing that dreamed to be a singer one day . 

So everyone has it own story it own life that we can not only use words to express but we can also use drawing to express it as well .
